Responsebilities

  • Provide advanced professional knowledge and skills in information systems problem identification, requirements definition, and determination of alternative solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of technology experience as a Mainframe Application developer.
  • Experience in analyzing, designing, programming, and testing applications.
  • Experience working with COBOL as a developer.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend alternative solutions to solve system-level problems.
  • Experience working within a large, diverse System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate mutual understanding among all parties.
  • Customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
  • A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT-related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT-related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT-related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mainframe databases such as DB2.
  • Skill in analyzing and documenting an existing process.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with technical and non-technical staff regarding project deadlines.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to perform task breakdowns, provide effective technical estimates, and solve system-wide complex problems with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a development role with a state-run system that manages Medicaid or with medical claims software.
